Does your business have rhythm? This week on “Mind Your Own Business,” I want to talk to you about rhythm meeting rhythm business.
If you find that you don’t ave the team accountability that you’d like, if you find that your plans don’t always get executed consistently, you find that sometimes challenges are brought to the table too late or aren’t discussed in good time.
If you feel that there’s not enough attention given to the key results in your business, this could all be symptomatic of you not having the right meeting rhythm in your business. Your meeting rhythm is all about the consistency and the frequency of the various meetings across your company, and if it is well designed, it helps you get things done and helps you sort out all of those problems I mentioned a second ago.
You need the right combination of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings so that your business understands exactly what the priorities are that all team members understand the challenges, understand the results, and generally speaking, the idea here is to have better quality meetings with more people in and fewer meetings really across the business.
If you can give people the right space to share challenges to have big discussions, you will fly through those challenges you will break through those bottlenecks, and achieve much more.
– Yes! Yes! If you have a business where there are just, like, scattered meetings across your diary, they’re not quite as consistent as they need to be; it’s unclear what the purpose needs to be. It’s confusing as to who should be there, who shouldn’t, or you have a tiny group of people in these meetings constantly then you’ll probably find that there’s not enough of an avenue for information to be shared across the company then everybody kind of feels like they don’t know what they’re doing so they just carry on doing their own thing, there isn’t this, like, system that helps everybody be crystal clear on the priorities, the challenges and the metrics in your company.
Your job as the Managing Director is to make sure that you understand how that meeting structure should be designed in your business, and you should get to work on implementing that straight away.
You can have the best plans in the world, you can have the best KPI dashboards in the world, but if you don’t use those things correctly, you’re just not going to get the results you want.
